The dosage of Celebrex prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physicians instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label. Treatment of moderate or severe pain, such as after dental or orthopedic procedures:
Adults: Take 400 mg on the first day for the first dose and then take 200 mg as needed for the second dose. After the first day take 200 mg twice a day.
Children: A physician must determine Use and dose.
Treatment of pain during menstruation:
Adults: Take 400 mg on the first day for the first dose and then take 200 mg as needed for the second dose. After the first day take 200 mg twice a day.
Children: A physician must determine Use and dose.
Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis:
Adults: Between 100 to 200 mg twice a day.
Children: A physician must determine Use and dose.
Treatment of osteoarthritis:
Adults: Either 100 mg twice day or 200 mg once a day.
Children: A physician must determine Use and dose.
Note: The number of capsules prescribed per-day depends on the strength of the prescription drug. In addition, the amount of capsules taken, the time between doses, and the duration the drug is taken is dependant on the medical problem related to the prescription and the discretion of the physician prescribing the drug. Always Follow the directions given to you by your physician!
Missed Celebrex dose
If your physician or pharmacist has ordered you to take Celebrex medicine an a regular schedule and you have missed a Celebrex dose you can take it as soon as you remember. If you remember close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Never double dose!
Celebrex overdose
In the event of an overdose get medical attention immediately!
Symptoms of overdose may include:
Bloody or black, tarry stools; continuing thirst; dizziness; drowsiness ; headache, severe or continuing; nausea and/or vomiting; shortness of breath; stomach pain; sudden decrease in the amount of urine; swelling of face, fingers, and/or lower legs; tightness in chest and/or wheezing; troubled breathing; unusual tiredness or weakness; vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds; weight gain.
